The Office of Faculty Affairs (OFA) was established to support faculty and administrators in the college regarding all matters pertinent to faculty affairs including searches and appointments, promotion and tenure, faculty leaves, faculty development, faculty rights, obligations and grievances, among other matters.
The OFA works closely with the dean, associate deans, the EHE Director of Human Resources, department chairs, chairs of search committees, promotion and tenure committees, department directors of human resources, the EHE College Council, and faculty.
Additionally, OFA supports faculty by:
- Maintaining faculty demographic data about faculty;
- Helping develop administrative and faculty policies;
- Improving the college climate for faculty; and
- Welcoming and helping new faculty establish themselves in the college; and
- Monitoring and supporting emeritus faculty.

The core mission of the OFA is to support the college's mission of "advancing the well-being of the people of Ohio and the global community through the creation and dissemination of knowledge". At the heart of this mission are the efforts of faculty as scholars, teachers, and activists. It is, therefore, the mission of the OFA to enhance the contexts in which faculty engage as scholars, teachers, and activists with particular concern for the trajectory of faculty as scholars, teachers, and activists over time. As part of this mission, the OFA addresses the contexts within which individual faculty engage as scholars, teachers, and activists as well as the contexts of the faculty as a collective.
