Web Project: Read It Again-PreK Mobile App

The OIT Web Services team unveiled the second major release for the Read It Again-PreK Mobile project. Developed in collaboration with researchers from the Crane Center for Early Childhood Research and Policy, this Android application puts scientifically based language and literacy curriculum into a mobile format for Pre-K teachers to quickly access learning strategies during storybook reading time with their students.

This release cycle goes for field testing in April and includes a feature that allows teachers to quickly sort their students by levels of understanding and then display a targeted learning strategy. In addition, we will study the amount of feedback our software can provide and still be effective for teachers who are juggling a tablet, storybook and a classroom full of students. The data we collect will help inform the final feature set for the full version of the application.
