Campbell Hall Rennovation

"This building should be transformative - a reflection of the values the College of Education and Human Ecology embodies."

- Dean Donald Pope-Davis

The College of Education and Human Ecology is embarking on a renovation project that will transform Campbell Hall into an aspirational space that reflects the evolution of our college’s culture and the core values of the institution. Working in collaboration with the university’s Facilities, Operations and Development (FOD), we are designing spaces to support the needs of faculty, staff and students.

This project is an important opportunity for our college and will allow us to shore up support for core functions and improve our infrastructure with an eye toward the future. The design will keep in harmony with historical roots while adapting to today’s needs.

We are still early in the process, and decisions related to design, space allocation and other critical decisions are still under consideration. We ask for your patience as we continue to gather feedback from you and all constituents and work with the university and contractors to design a space that will support everyone.

Programming Goals

  1. Spaces that better facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration between all EHE members
  2. Spaces designed with the broader community in mind, as EHE often invites members of the greater Columbus community into their buildings
  3. Renovation should have better wayfinding and recognizable entrances and ADA compliant entrances
  4. The heart of the building should be a community space that can be used for large gatherings but can serve as informal study/meeting space
