Purpose

Each year, the College of Education and Human Ecology recognizes excellence through various awards at a college-wide event. Faculty and staff are awarded for their outstanding contributions that help the college achieve its vision, mission, and goals.

Nominations

Faculty and staff make nominations. The nomination should describe in detail the outstanding performance of the nominee and should also include how the nominee fulfills the criteria of the awards with rating. Please address the following in your nomination submission:

  • In what context and for how long have you known the nominee?
  • Why have you chosen to nominate this person?  Please address how the nominee demonstrates aspects of the award.
  • Compared with others in similar positions, how would you rank this nominee?
  • Can you certify, to the best of your ability, that the information in this submission is accurate?

Nominations should be submitted to Michelle Chambers Robison at chambersrobison.1@osu.edu by May 15. Please attach your letter of nomination via a Word document.

Award Criteria and Eligibility

Each category will have its own parameters for the nominator to rate, justify, and explain how the nominee fulfills the award criteria. All nominees must be part-time (at least 50% FTE) or full time, faculty or staff, and must be in good standing with the college. Temporary staff and graduate associates are not eligible. There are six awards in six categories, and the award recipients for each category will be recognized and will receive $1,000 cash award from the Herrick fund.  The Executive Committee will select recipients, whom will be recognized during the Convocation ceremony in August. Note: All cash awards, regardless of amount, represent taxable income to the individual.
