Office of Academic Affairs Impact Report

The Office of Academic Affairs (OAA) in the College of Education and Human Ecology presents its first report since its reorganization in 2020. The report provides a snapshot of the impact as well as some recent changes and initiatives undertaken by the office. The information provided represents the work of the staff in the OAA office during the 2021 calendar year. Consistent with the mission of the college, the office supports students from the start of their educational experience through graduation through five different units: Recruitment, Retention and Student Engagement; Academic Advising and Student Services; Curriculum Standards and Academic Policy, Career Development and External Relations; and Scholarships and Honors. 
 
OAA snapshot for the 2021 calendar year: 

  • 5,138 pre-scheduled advising appointments
  • 352 new first year undergraduate students in autumn 2021
  • 347 career and internship student appointments
  • 404 interventions for students placed on academic probation or major probation
  • $2.1 million in initial scholarships awarded to our students
