Old server data now being archived

Friday, January 17, 2020

The Office of Information Technology has been providing notification since June of 2019 that the college had to reorganize our data files in a manner better suited to meeting the university’s security framework. This data is any data stored on EHE servers, including your L:, M:, N:, O:, etc. drive letters. The team has reached out via email to those with research data and made announcements in the EHE Insider. The deadline to work with OIT to identify and reorganize your existing data files was Dec. 31.

OIT is now actively archiving all remaining data left on the old file servers. Any data that was not identified by individuals or departments as needing to be relocated will no longer be accessible without contacting OIT. This data will be stored safely and maintained in accordance with the university’s latest General Data Retention Policy.

If you identify a file or data folder that has since been archived that you need access to, contact the OIT Service Desk at http://go.osu.edu/ehetdx, 614-247-8324 or ehe-servicedesk@osu.edu.
