Monday, November 23, 2020

Workday is a part of the business transformation that will improve the Ohio State experience and advance operational excellence. In order to prepare you for success in your work, the following trainings are now available for you to complete, in preparation for Go Live beginning January 3, 2021.

Workday Training:

All Campus Faculty and Staff

Most employees across campus will use Workday for employee self-service tasks, such as viewing pay, updating personal information and selecting benefits. Campus employees will also use Workday to track time and absence, purchase goods and request university travel. Campus employees should watch the videos that apply to their roles at Ohio State. Additional job aids and videos are available in the Administrative Resource Center(link is external).

Campus Managers and Manager Liaisons

Campus managers and manager liaisons are expected to take “Workday for Campus Managers” in BuckeyeLearn. This curriculum contains 10 eLearning modules that range from 10-30 minutes. Core User Employees with Assigned Workday Security Roles

Finance, supply chain, HR and payroll professionals will need more robust training to provide them with the knowledge they need to be successful in their roles. Employees with Workday security roles should have received notification from an administrative leader in their area, such as the Senior Business Officer, Senior Financial Officer or Controller. Each security role has an associated set of training. These trainings will be assigned on your BuckeyeLearn Transcript. Recommended training will not appear on your BuckeyeLearn Transcript but can be accessed in BuckeyeLearn by using the search function.

Workday Lab Tenant

The lab tenant is a Workday environment that you can access using your Ohio State credentials and experience Workday as yourself, with your security and data. Lab tenant login instructions can be found via this Box link: Lab Tenant Use and Login Instructions

The goal of the lab tenant is to:

  • Allow you to validate your personal data

Important note: The lab tenant was created from PeopleSoft data pulled on June 12, 2020, so any changes since June 2020 do not need to be reported as data validation errors.

  • Practice navigation and suggested employee and manager transactions in Workday
